Japan Has A Tradition Of Fire Pits In The Home Called Irori
It is only natural that Japan would produce the most high quality portable fire pit. Portable fire pits allow the tradition of Irori to travel on outdoor adventures. Gathering, cooking, warming. The portable Fireplace is a extension of the home Irori.
I Have Been Using My Snow Peak Fire Pit For About 2 Years - It's Been Great Piece Of Gear
Hey there! Let me introduce you to the XL Snow Peak Pack and Carry Folding Fire Pit. When you get it, it’ll come in a flat box, which is pretty neat. The first thing that’ll catch your eye when you open it up is the Fire Resistant Stainless Steel construction—it's pretty impressive! It’s got a bit of weight to it, but trust me, it’s lighter than your typical iron fire pit. Plus, this bad boy is super durable and doesn’t need much upkeep. The cool design with holes and gaps in the hinges means you’ll get awesome airflow for a nice, hot fire. Perfect for those cozy nights around the fire!

Mendocino National Forest - Our First Time Using the Snow Peak
We met the Ranger at the entrance to Grizzly Flat Campground, Mendocino National Forest. He issued us a fire permit and we used the Snow Peak for the first time. There was a beat up fire ring at our camp. I stuck the fire pit inside and and had safely contained campfire.

Awesome Campsite, Stunningly Beautiful View and A Great Campfire In The Snow Peak Fire Pit
My wife likes to make the campfire. I'm usually cooking. Here we are at Alabama Hills California Best Campsite. The was a shallow hole and a rock pile but no fire ring. Using our Snow Peak Fire Pit we had a better fire. Elevating the campfire allows for better airflow and a place to put your feet to warm them. Use care not to melt your shoes!

I Use My Fire Pit Even When There Is Fire Ring At The Campsite
You know what’s great about fires in a fire pit? They burn way better! Seriously, you have no idea what kind of stuff was tossed into those fire rings before you showed up—could be anything from plastics to old garbage. But with a fire pit, the airflow is on point because of all the holes and spaces in the design. Plus, I love propping my feet up on the rim of the fire pit to get them all toasty. It’s the little things, right?
When It's Time To Go The Snow Peak Packs Up Quick And Stows Out Of The Way
Like the little video above shows. Dump what little ashes are left (it burns wood completely) in a appropriate container or location, fold it and stow it. I'm tossing it in the back of my Exventure XV-3 Off-Road Trailer. Don't be afraid to stack on top of it. This Fire Pit is strong and a not much will hurt it.
The Campfire Could Be the Highlight of the Trip
Picture this: you're chilling by the campfire, swapping stories, dreaming up plans for tomorrow, or just kicking back with a cozy cup of tea. There’s something magical about sitting by the fire, feeling the warmth wrap around you, and gazing up at the stars. It's the perfect way to soak in the great outdoors and create some unforgettable memories. And let’s be real, having an awesome Snow Peak Fireplace makes it all that much easier!
Campfire Permits - What I Carry For Fire Prevention - Link To Smokey Bear Campfire Safety
See the links above for awesome information on campfire safety and fire permits.
Here are the items I carry for managing my campfire:
Metal Trash Can - Sometimes the only way to handle ashes is to pack them out. This is true at places like Anza Borego. Metal won't melt from hot ashes.
5 Gallons Extra Water - My Exventure XV-3 allows me capacity to carry extra water and fuel. I always have water to douse a fire if needed.
Fire Extinguisher - Permanently mounted on the side of my trailer is a large fire extinguisher. I also keep one in the Jeep.
Shovel - This one is a no brainer. Never leave home without your shovel. It has many uses including burying your fire.
